Country Selection in Open and World Proxies
The Open and World proxies both have IPs for countries around the world. If you want to limit the IPs to specific countries, there are two methods:
- Use the X-ProxyMesh-Country custom header
- Select the specific countries from your account dashboard
While the X-ProxyMesh-Country
header is very flexible and can be used on a per-request basis, it can be hard to implement. An easier method for selecting countries is outlined below.
Steps to Follow
Use this process on one or both of these pages:
- Open Proxy: https://proxymesh.com/account/proxy_status/open/
- World Proxy: https://proxymesh.com/account/proxy_status/world/
- If you plan to use World Proxy, make sure you've authorized it on the dashboard. Authorization and use of the World Proxy requires ProxyMesh Plan 50 or above. The Open Proxy is included free with each account.
- Navigate to the status page for the Open Proxy or World Proxy. If you have authorized the proxy, checkboxes will be visible by the country names. (See screenshot below)
- Check the box for each country whose IP addresses you want to use.
- When you've made all your selections, click the Save Country Choices button below the checkboxes.
Once you've saved your selection, subsequent requests to the Open or World Proxy will only use IPs from your chosen countries. If you want to use IPs from all available countries, then remove all your selections and save.
You can still use the X-ProxyMesh-Country
header in your requests. If present, it will override any country choices you've made for the Open or World proxies. Other custom headers like X-ProxyMesh-IP
header can still be used to select specific IPs.
