Mobile Device Browser and Proxy Setup
This article describes ways to configure HTTP proxy settings on a mobile device.
iOS Device Proxy Settings
- Open your iPhone Settings
- Select Wi-Fi
- Select the Wi-Fi network you're connected to. It will have a blue checkmark on the left.
- At the bottom of the W-Fi network settings page, under HTTP Proxy, tap on Configure Proxy.
- Tap on Manual Configuration

In the Server field, enter your proxy hostname

In the Port field, enter the proxy port number

If the proxy requires Authentication, tap the toggle switch, then

Enter the Username

Enter the Password
Note: Generally, these settings are for exclusive use in Wi-Fi networks. If you require a proxy for mobile data, you might need to use specific apps that support proxy settings.
Android Device Proxy Settings
- In your Android Settings, tap on Wi-Fi
- Tap and hold on your network for a few seconds, then choose Modify Network
- Tap on Proxy
- Choose Manual
- Set proxy server hostname and port number
- If you need to use Authentication, enter the Username and Password
- Go to mobile network provider's settings, scroll to the bottom, and select Access Point Names (APNs)
- Choose your APN to configure the Android proxy settings. Under Proxy, Port, Username, and Password, enter your proxy details and credentials.
Check the IP Address
After setting up a proxy on your mobile device, you cancheck an IP lookup tool to confirm the new IP address for the proxy. Go to a site like WhatIsMyIP.com and you should see that your device now displays a different IP address, the one for the proxy.
